F.A.Q.
CONTEMP is a 3-channel temperature recorder and alarm system designed for concrete temperature and maturity monitoring. It consists of battery-powered hardware that connects directly to the cellular network and a web-based platform hosted at app.contemp.live for monitoring, alarms, and reporting.
The hardware connects directly to the cellular network, eliminating the need for gateways or additional infrastructure. This ensures seamless data transmission without requiring users to be physically near the device.
CONTEMP includes:
- One ambient temperature sensor
- Two external sensors for measuring in-depth concrete curing conditions
The device runs on 4xAA batteries, which are easy to replace without tools. For extended battery life, it adjusts its syncing frequency based on sensor activity.
CONTEMP offers:
- Differential Temperature Alarms – Alerts when the temperature difference between core and surface exceeds a set threshold.
- Min/Max Temperature Alarms – Notifies users when temperature readings go beyond defined limits.
Users can generate multiple types of reports, including:
- Temperature Readouts – Detailed records of all sensor readings.
- Hourly Reports – Summarized temperature logs at set intervals.
- Maturity Reports – Strength estimation based on a calibration curve and temperature history.
CONTEMP calculates concrete maturity and strength development based on a calibration curve that users define. It tracks cumulative temperature exposure and estimates strength progress, notifying users when the concrete reaches its target strength.
Yes! CONTEMP allows users to monitor multiple pours remotely. The platform consolidates data from multiple devices into a single, easy-to-read report.
No. Unlike traditional Bluetooth-based systems, CONTEMP transmits data directly over the cellular network, so there’s no need to walk around the site picking up signals.
CONTEMP supports unlimited team sharing. You can assign different access levels:
- Viewer – Can see data and receive alarms but cannot change settings.
- Editor – Can modify all settings and reports.
- Silent Viewer – Can view data but will not receive alarms.
- Service & Maintenance Access – For maintenance partners to assist with monitoring and troubleshooting.
Yes. If a device is already registered, you can request ownership transfer. The system sends a notification to the current owner, who can approve the transfer.
Each CONTEMP device comes with a QR code. Scanning the QR code automatically enters the serial number, making registration fast and easy.
If all sensors are disconnected, CONTEMP automatically reduces its syncing interval to every 12 hours to conserve battery life. As soon as a sensor is reconnected, it resumes normal operation.
Once a pour reaches the target strength, CONTEMP automatically sends a completion notification. Users can then download a finalized PDF or Excel report for project documentation.
All device activity, alarms, and changes are logged in the system. Users can download a tamper-proof activity log in PDF format for compliance and auditing.
Yes. CONTEMP hardware is designed for harsh environments and tested in temperatures as low as -36°C using Energizer Lithium Ultimate AA batteries for optimal performance.
Reports are available directly on app.contemp.live. They can be downloaded in PDF or Excel format for easy sharing.
Yes, for maturity monitoring, users must define a calibration curve by inputting lab-tested concrete strength data. This ensures accurate maturity calculations.
If the device loses cellular connectivity, it continues recording data and automatically syncs when the connection is restored.
